Litton to develop night vision sights for NSWC

17 Jun 2002

Litton Electro-Optical Systems Division (Garland, Texas, United States) has received an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract from the U.S. Navy's Naval Surface Warfare Center (Crane, Indiana) to design, develop and produce up to 5,300 Mini-Night Vision Sights for the U.S. Special Operations Command SOPMOD Kit program. Litton will produce a very small, high-performance image intensified night vision weapon sight tailored for the M4A1 carbine with dual use as a head/helmet mounted monocular goggle. The sights, which will first be delivered in March 1999, employ Omnibus V GEN III image intensified tubes.
