Eurofighter Typhoon program to use dpiX and Planar FPDs

The multifunction "head down" display which will equip the cockpit of the Eurofighter Typhoon will have flat panel displays manufactured by dpiX and Planar Advance, Inc. dpiX will manufacture the Eagle-6 active-matrix liquid crystal display (AMLCD) cell while Planar Advance will integrate the drive electronics and thermal management system and will ruggedize the display to meet program requirements. Smiths Industries will oversee the system design and integration of the display into the aircraft's real-time information system.
