Spectra-Physics awarded $2.4 million optical coatings contract

Spectra-Physics has been awarded a $2.4 million contract for facilitization and initial production of optical coatings for the National Ignition Facility of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. The award, which will be released in phases, will produce high-damage-threshold optical coatings on meter-sized substrates for the facility. The multi-layered coatings will be approximate 5 microns thick and laser light conditioned for high thresholds.
