Raytheon Systems Company, Direccion General de Aeronautica Civil, and the United States Federal Aviation Administration will install two satellite navigation test bed reference stations in Chile. The test bed consisting of stations in Santiago and Balmaceda will support the evaluation of the wide area augmentation concept for enhancing the Global Positioning System in Chilean airspace and lay the groundwork for future interoperability between the GPS augmentation system and the U.S. Wide Area Augmentation System.
