Orbital Imaging acquires TRIFID

Orbital Imaging Corporation has acquired TRIFID Corporation in a move designed to enhance image processing, digital archiving, and product distribution capabilities. TRIFID, a satellite and aircraft image processing company, provides engineering analysis for various satellites, development of image processing software, and production of digital imagery produtcs. Orbital Imaging provides global, satellite-delivered earth imagery services. The acquisition will help Orbital Imaging prepare for the expected growth for earth imaging services once its OrbView-3 and OrbView-4 high-resolution imagery satellites, which will provide one-meter images of the earth and multispectral and hyperspectral imagery, are deployed.
