The U.S. Army's Communications-Electronic Command has awarded Northrup Grumman Corporation a contract valued at $20.8 million for production of 18 additional Tactical Endurance Synthetic Aperture Radar (TESAR)systems, including two spares for the Predator unmanned aerial vehicle. The agreement brings the total number of TESAR systems ordered to 36 units. TESAR creates photograph-quality radar imagery through clouds and weather at a resolution of one foot and at the time of the new award had logged 405 hours of specified Bosnian imagery in 422 flights aboard the Predator.
