Mannesmann VDO to acquire Phillips Car Systems

Mannesmann VDO and Phillips Electronics N.V. have signed final agreements for the acquisition of Phillips Car Systems. The 1.4 billion NLG transaction will embed Phillips' audio, navigation, and telematics activities into VDO Information Systems, and the company will operate under the name VDO Car Communications.
