Praxair to expand rare gas capacity

Praxair, Inc., will expand the rare gas production capacity at its facility in Calumet, Indiana. Xenon, which is used as a contrast imaging agent in computerized axial tomography, will be expanded by 300,000 liters annually; neon, used in lasers, scanners, and plasma display panels, will be expanded by 15,000,000 liters; and krypton, used for illumination, will be expanded by 2,000,000 liters.
