PictureVision selects MetaStor for digital imaging storage

PictureVision, Inc., the online photo service of PhotoNet, has selected the Symbios, Inc., MetaStor system to handle digital imaging storage requirements. The MetaStor systems, which are designed to centralize storage control, scale in capacities ranging from 16 GB to multiple terrabytes and support both Ultra SCSI (40 MB/sec) and Fibre Channel (100 MB/sec) host connections. PictureVision's PhotoNet Disk and PhotoNet Online products allow consumers to view, use, and share photographs on computer. The MetaStor system increases PictureVision's storage capacity from 1,000 rolls of film to 10,000 rolls of film per unit.
