Christmas special uses Newtek's Lightwave 3D software

The ABC Christmas special "Santa vs. The Snowman" used the Lightwave 3D 5.5 software manufactured by NewTek Partners, L.P., in the half-hour 3D animated show. The software, which can render at resolutions of up to 8000 by 8000 pixels, contains a Morph Gizmo feature which improves character animation, particularly for facial movements such as lip synching, and Super Cel Shader, which enables animators to turn 3D models into 2D-style animations.
