DRS acquires Spar's Applied Systems Division

DRS Technologies has completed the acquisition of the Applied Systems Division of Spar Aerospace Limited. The $29 million transaction will change SparAerospace's name to DRS Flight Safety and Communications. The acquired company is a dominant global supplier of aircraft locator beacons and flight data recordersystems, while DRS Technologies' existing products include electronic sensor, electronic imaging and electro-optical systems.
