Navy awards DRS $14.2 million

The U.S. Navy has provided DRS Electronic Systems, Inc., a multi-year contract with an initial maximum value of $14.2 million to provide AN/SPS-67 radar systems along with engineering support and associated installation kits. The subsidiary of DRS Technologies, Inc., will produce radar systems to be deployed on board the Navy's new DDG-51 Aegis class ships. The AN/SPS-67 radar system provides ships with ocean surface surveillance and navigation data as well as detection and tracking of low-flying aircraft and other targets.
