Lasermedics acquires two medical firms

Lasermedics (Sugar Land, TX) completed two strategic acquisitions that should contribute more than $3 million to the company's 1997 revenue. The company acquired the home-care division of Gatti Medical Supply (Indiana, PA) and Texas T.E.N.S. (Houston, TX). Specific terms of the acquisitions were not disclosed. Gatti Medical Supply's home-care division provides equipment and supplies to the physical and rehabilitation marketplace.Texas T.E.N.S. markets electrotherapy products to physical therapists, physicians, and hospitals. Lasermedics' Microlight division manufactures a low-energy diode-laser device currently in clinical trials for the treatment of carpal-tunnel syndrome.
