SLI expands facilities

Semiconductor Laser International (SLI, Binghamton, NY) plans to double the size of its recently completed facility and expand the cleanroom ahead of schedule. With demand for the company's semiconductor-diode lasers increasing faster than expected, SLI is beginning work immediately on Phase II of its manufacturing facility. Industry sources predict sales of high-power semiconductor-diode lasers will rise from an estimated $200 million-$350 million in 1996 to $300 million-$450 million in 1997.Courtesy of Laser Focus World
