Cutting Edge pumps up its pulse delivery

17 Jun 2002

A diode-pumped slab-laser system with 532-nm green output of more than 350 mJ/pulse has been delivered by Cutting Edge Optronics (St. Louis, MO). The company says this is one of the highest average-power, solid-state green lasers to date. The laser consists of a TEM00 master oscillator and a set of amplifiers based on the firm's family of diode-pumped Nd:YAG slab pump heads designed for high pulse rate operation. The green output is produced by a nonlinear second-harmonic- generator crystal, and higher pulse energies are achievable at lower pulse- repetition frequencies. Output is up to 400-Hz frequency and 280 W in the infrared.
