Product Description:
Silicon lenses are ideal for applications operating in the 2–7 µm infrared range, offering excellent performance in both IR and FTIR systems due to their high thermal conductivity, low density, and strong mechanical durability.

Hyperion Optics uses optical-grade silicon specified with a resistivity of 10–40 Ohm-cm, higher than standard semiconductor-grade material. For CZ (Czochralski) silicon, there is an absorption band at 9 µm, which is acceptable for applications operating in the 3–5 µm thermal band. Float zone silicon, in contrast, does not exhibit this absorption. Please verify your application’s working wavelength when inquiring with Hyperion Optics to ensure optimal material selection.

Silicon windows can also serve as high-reflectivity laser mirrors or infrared viewports, making them versatile components in a wide range of optical systems.

Hyperion offers custom spherical silicon lenses from ø 3 mm to 300 mm in diameter for collimating or focusing applications, available with anti-reflective (AR) or diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings. Coating simulation curves are available upon request.
