World’s first quantum cascade photodetector, which boasts a cut-off frequency of 20 GHz with no cooling

Hamamatsu Photonics introduce the world’s first commercially available Quantum Cascade Photodetector (QCD) specifically designed for mid-infrared wavelengths. This compact QCD (<8 cm³) has a frequency response of 20 GHz and requires no cooling. It is suitable for high-speed applications including long distance LiDAR.
