For airborne LiDAR systems demanding unparalleled protection in harsh environments, Knight Optical's Sapphire Windows prove an excellent component. Our premium-quality Windows are available in three varieties – Random Cut, Fluorescence-Free and C-Cut/Z-Cut.

Sapphire crystal (Al2O3) is a sought-after substrate for a range of high-precision applications such as LiDAR systems. With a high transmission from 150nm up to around 5µm, it's an outstanding choice for ultraviolet (UV), visible and infrared (IR) applications. With excellent mechanical strength, scratch-resistance and hardness as well as an optimal thermal and chemical resistance, Sapphire is a perfect choice for airborne LiDAR applications.

Available from stock (Random-Cut and C-Cut/Z-Cut varieties only), via our website for next-day dispatch, our inventory includes stock sizes from 5 to 150mm in diameter, and between 0.5 and 15mm-thick. What's more, we can edge down stock Windows to smaller diameters and square and rectangular apertures. Our Fluorescence-Free Sapphire Windows are available as custom-made components only and can be ordered by contacting a member of our Technical Sales team.

For applications requiring a more tailored specification, we also offer Random-Cut and C-Cut/Z-Cut Sapphire Windows as custom-made components for seamless integration with your LiDAR system. This customised service allows you to specify the exact shape, size and tolerance that best suits your project. What's more, we also offer custom optical coatings for optimum transmission and added protection for your LiDAR application.
