The need for matching powermeters and light sources with stringent launch conditions for larger core fibres is necessary for accurate and repeatable measurements for avionics and defence industries as well as research laboratories.
Large core Plastic Optical Fibre (POF) is being used in a number of industries with short link connections, the automotive industry is a good example. TEMPO’s compatible test equipment is the large area silicon detector based powermeter 567XL calibrated for 650nm, 780nm and 850nm combined with the 650nm LED source designed for large core POF 573XL, making the ideal POF loss measurement set. Loss set combination has both continuous wave and modulation measurement capability (270Hz, 1kHz and 2kHz) for test signal identification and stray light elimination. Options include Snap On Connectors (SOC) interface adaptors to suit all commonly used connectors used with large core fibre.
