From concept to mass production

We manufacture customized spherical and aspherical optics, microstructures and micro lens arrays, diffractive optics, complex 2-component optical parts and more polymer optics components and systems. Even if temperature dependence of polymer optics is an issue, Jenoptik is tackling this challenge with hybrid optics combining the benefits of glass optics and polymer optics, overcoming the particular cons. So thermal stability even under harsh environmental conditions is realized.
Compact optical system solutions with freeform surfaces
The still young field of polymer-based freeform optics offers a new approach to optical system design, as it overcomes many limitations of classical spherical optics. Freeform optics dramatically increase the design options for optical systems and enable the creation of smaller, less complex, and more cost effective individual optical solutions. Our optical design engineers use latest design tools to meet the challenging requirements of our customers.
Small series and high precision prototype polymer optics
Jenoptik’s Ultra Precision Technology (like 2-axis diamond turning, slow tool servo or ultra-precision milling) complements injection molding processes by providing a flexible, time saving, and high accuracy toolset enabling easy prototyping, pre-series and small series production. So customized optical components can be tested and qualified by our customers for functionality and required optical quality before starting mass production via injection molding. Especially projects involving highly customized optics with specific requirements in terms of dimensional accuracy or internal stress, can be realized with Ultra Precision Technology. Also tool inserts for injection molding machines can easily be manufactured in this way.
