Plano Concave Cylindrical Lens May 06, 2020 | |||||||||||||||||||
06 May 2020 PARAMETER: A plano-concave cylindrical lens is used to expand light in on axis. A negative cylindrical lens is able to diverge collimated input light away from a line. Plano-concave cylindrical lenses are used for one-dimensional compression of images, anamorphic beam shaping, and laser line generation. A negative cylindrical lens acts like a flat concave spherical lens, but the former works only on one axis. These cylindrical lenses are used in applications where the point source needs to be shaped in a one-dimensional direction. A typical application is to convert a collimated laser beam into a linear beam using a single cylindrical lens. A pair of cylindrical lenses can be used to shape the image. To minimize spherical aberration, the surface of the lens should be oriented toward the source when diverging the beam. Plano Concave Cylindrical Len Specification
