30 Jul 2014 Lyon, France – July 29, 2014 - Varioptic, a Business Unit of Parrot SA, today announces the addition of Caspian M12-39N0-15.8 to its range of Auto Focus lens modules. With its 15.8 mm effective focal length, the longest in the Caspian M12 family, this new lens enables multi-megapixel, long range imaging with absolutely no moving parts. Featuring a built-in Arctic 39N0 liquid lens, and compatible with up to 1/3” sensors, Caspian M12-39N0-15.8 offers motionless focusing from a few centimeters to infinity. It is compatible with M12x0.5 mounts (S-Mount) and off-the-shelf FPC connectors; an optional IR-cut filter is available. This new board level lens is perfectly suited to highly demanding applications requiring fast and precise focusing on smaller objects, like iris recognition, eye tracking, medical imaging or long-range barcode reading. Caspian M12-39N0-15.8 can now be ordered from Varioptic and its distributors, as well as a Caspian Development Kit including 2 Caspian lens modules, a power supply with a choice of driver ICs, a connection cable, driving software and libraries, plus an extensive set of documentation.
