08 Oct 2013 Diffractive optics continue to edge their way into industry. Applications include laser micro-machining, skin treatment and spectroscopy. Of course, different elements are optimised for each of these, for example a Top Hat DOE would ideally be used for laser welding. The uniform image area and sharp edges create a clear border between treated and untreated regions. LASER COMPONENTS is able to provide homogenisers, beam samplers and multispot DOEs, all of which are offered as standard elements or customised for demanding applications.
A recent development in our DOE product range is the introduction of a very small Top Hat for f-theta lenses (~1.5 times the diffraction limit). Capable of being used in scanning instruments or other applications, it is available in 3 shapes, line, square or round. Another diffractive optic we promote is our Vortex lens, a unique instrument converting a Gaussian beam into a donut shaped energy ring.
