Powerlase Photonics introduces their first mJ level, 200W, 10 Picosecond Polaris Series Laser

Ultrafast laser systems have the capability to machine most materials with negligible thermal conduction and hence almost no heat affected zone (cold machining). To date, limited available power and hence the low throughput has been the major drawback for industrial acceptance of this well-known and proved technology.

Powerlase Photonics has demonstrated over the years its expertise in providing High Power ns-DPSS Lasers of its RIGEL Series in IR, Green and UV for industrial needs. As a leading innovator in high power and high energy pulsed-lasers, Powerlase Photonics introduces a new family of picosecond lasers, the POLARISTM series.

The POLARISTM i200, is a 1064 nm, 10 ps, 200 W, high repetition rate laser up to 1 MHz, with an M2 < 1.5, and programmable burst mode operation. It has been developed to respond to the increasing demand from the manufacturing industry for high power - high energy picosecond lasers.

In the infrared, the POLARISTM i200 is optimised for cost-effective, high quality and high speed production. The high resolution and targeted process of applications such as:

The POLARISTM i200 was developed around a versatile Nd:YAG “Z-slab” module based design which has the potential for very high power and efficiency.
