14 Mar 2013 Somersworth, NH – EigenLight Corporation>b is excited to announce the launch of its new 500 Series line of inline optical fiber power monitors that will allow carriers and technicians to monitor the optical network in a more cost effective and efficient manner. The programmability, low-cost, low loss, low PDL and high directivity makes the Series 500 monitors ideal for monitoring the optical power of Long Haul, Metro, FTTX and Data Center Optical Networks.
EigenLight believes the new Series 500 monitor product line takes inline power monitoring to a new level. With the lowest loss and lowest PDL on the market, the Series 500 can be used in the utmost demanding networks (40G, 100G, 400G and 1T coherent systems) without compromising the quality of the transmission signal. By capitalizing on EigenLight’s patented optical tap technology, the high directivity of the Series 500 monitor allows it to be used in monitoring individual counter propagating signals of an FTTX network accurately without compromising the other signals. These features, combined with the low-cost, programmability and the USB interface, makes the Series 500 optical power monitor a cost effective and flexible solution for accurate power monitoring in the optical network.
Kevin Lefebvre, Ph.D., Director of Business Development at EigenLight, is excited about the release of this new Series 500 monitor. “The Series 500 takes our advanced inline optical tap and integrates it into small, low-cost, programmable platform. This will allow the carriers and technicians to capitalize on our exceptional inline optical tap specifications to measure the power levels of the optical network without disconnecting the fiber from the network. The high directivity and the low loss make the Series 500 ideal for data centers and FTTX applications” says Dr. Lefebvre. EigenLight will be featuring the new Series 500 optical power monitor at their OFC booth # 1229, March 19th-21st, demonstrating the product in several applications. The Series 500 monitor line comes in Single Mode, Multi-mode or Polarization Maintaining Fiber.
EigenLight specializes in low-loss, low PDL and high directivity inline fiber optic power monitoring equipment and components that provide in-line measurement of the optical power for a wide-range of fiber optic applications. This includes Long Haul, Metro, FTTX and Data Center Optical Performance Monitoring as well as power monitoring within optical networking subsystems, fiber lasers and medical laser systems. EigenLight, from its inception in 1996, has manufactured over 100,000 inline optical taps and power monitors at its headquarters in Somersworth, New Hampshire, US.
