Ruggedized 532nm SLM laser for industry and research | |
25 Apr 2012 The Laser Quantum torus now gives up to 750mW of single frequency 532nm light, and is built for the harshest of environments. Every torus produced is subjected to a 1,200 G shock test on 3 faces. SLM lasers are a requirement for many sensitive measurement and detection applications, from high resolution Raman spectroscopy to interferometry, due to their typical sub-1MHz linewidths and >100m coherence lengths, but these specifications are often dwarfed by a typical stability spec of +/-0.02nm over +/-2 degrees C. An SLM laser drifting over 0.02nm, approximately 1 wave number or 20GHz, will mode hop repeatedly. To sufficiently stabilize these lasers for repeatable measurements becomes costly and impractical, or for industrial and portable systems, near impossible. The torus is unique amongst single frequency DPSS lasers; its virtual ring cavity design vastly reduces shock and vibration sensitivity compared with a physical ring cavity. The torus features active mode-locking, achieving stability of within 5 picometers over a 20C drift, eliminating mode hop. The whole system is backed by our comprehensive support and warranty that extends through our OEM partners to their customers For all the latest information please visit www.laserquantum.com |
