02 Sep 2008 A rigorous electromagnetic simulator for modelling integrated optics and fibre optics. FIMMPROP uses rigorous algorithms to bring high accuracy to the modelling of integrated and fibre optics components, including waveguide tapers, directional couplers, MMIs, y-junctions, bends etc. It works well even for high delta-n structures such as SOI (silicon-on-insulator), yet can still do long structures efficiently. In addition it is fully bidirectional, taking all reflections into account correctly, even modelling Bragg gratings. It is based on EME (eigenmode expansion) methods - hence the high accuracy. |
