06 May 2008 Avalanche photodiodes (APDs) are particularly well suited for detecting small amounts of light. They are used in many applications such as rangefinding and the medical field. Measurement sensitivity is often limited by the connected electronics. An appropriate amplifier has to be used in order to achieve optimal performance. The newly developed H series hybrid detectors by LASER COMPONENTS offer users an integrated amplifier in a compact, hermetically sealed housing. The particularly low-noise H1 series has a built-in temperature sensor. A suitable high voltage power supply for each APD receiver is also available. |
