08 May 2007 Neodymium doped Gadolinium Orthovanadate single crystal (Nd:GdVO4) is an excellent laser crystal for diode pumped lasers. Similar to the Nd:YVO4 crystals, Nd:GdVO4 also exhibits high gain. As well as this the crystal boasts low threshold, high absorption coefficients at pumping wavelengths. The Nd:YVO4 also has a much higher thermal conductivity. It will replace the Nd:YVO4 in high power laser application in the future.
