04 May 2007 We offer tapered diode lasers for use in external cavity configurations in the wavelength regime 760nm to 1064nm. These diodes provide nearly diffraction limited behavior up to output powers of 2W. Due to the high antireflection coating of their facets, our tapered lasers guarantee a good coupling to the grating of external cavity setups (e.g. in Littrow configuration). More than nearly diffraction limited 2 W of output power at 975nm have been achieved in such configurations.
Tapered diode lasers combine a nearly diffraction limited behavior with output powers only available by diode lasers with broad-area design so far.The lateral design consists of a taper and a ridge-waveguide section. High beam quality is enabled by an index guided ridge-waveguide or MESA structure. In contrast, high output powers requires a gain guided broad pumped area, which leads to a taper section.
For output powers up to 1 W the diodes will be mounted p-side down on copper heat sinks in C-mount design. For higher output powers it is advisable to mount the diodes on our high-power heat sinks.
