PerkinElmer's DigiPyroTM, PYD 1998, is the world's first digital output infrared pyrodetector. It combines the time-proven, ceramic, dual-element configuration with a fully integrated A/D converter. Designed for motion detection applications, the new DigiPyro delivers a number of clear performance advantages over analog pyrodetectors including space and cost savings from fewer components and significantly improved EMI immunity. Tests show that the PSRR is improved by roughly 30 dB, a 32-fold improvement over traditional analog pyrodetectors.
