Highlights of AFR Milan at ECOC 2024: TFLN PIC

September 25, 2024 – Advanced Fiber Resources Milan showcased its latest innovations at ECOC 2024, held from September 23-25 in Frankfurt, Germany.

ECOC, one of the largest and most prestigious conferences in Europe for optical communications, celebrated its 50th anniversary this year with over 300 exhibitors and more than 1,600 attendees.

Among the exhibitors, AFR Milan, a world-leading company in lithium niobate modulators with a 40-year history, presented its advancements on TFLN PIC devices for telecom and datacom, which attracted significant interest due to their exceptional performance in high-speed data transmission, low power consumption, and compact design.

40 GHz TFLN IQ Modulator: Electro-Optic bandwidth > 25 GHz, high linearity, for OFDM, QPSK, QAM coding and FMCW LiDAR applications

40 GHz IQ Modulator: Electro-Optic bandwidth > 30 GHz, 5 dB (typ.) optical insertion loss and optical extinction ratio ≥ 24 dB, for satellite communication and FMCW LiDAR applications

• C-Band and 1060 nm Phase Modulator: Combines high linearity with low drive voltage and small footprint, covering modulation frequency up to 10 GHz, for ultra-fast high power lasers and quantum applications
