Jena, Germany -- The Executive Management Committee (EMC), Jenoptik’s extended management body, has set a target for the proportion of 30 percent for women in global management positions. This is a resolution from a bundle of measures that shall promote the careers of women in the company.
In addition, the EMC also formulated its goal of 30 percent of global management positions with colleagues of international origin. "Internationality and also diversity are success factors which must be anchored in management", says Stefan Traeger, Jenoptik President & CEO.
Next to focusing more strongly on photonics, the Jenoptik strategy concentrates on the development of a corporate culture that enables more innovation and internationalization.
"It is not yet clear how long it will take us to achieve this goal. It will be measured quarterly, and the proportion of women and international colleagues in management positions will be key performance indicators in the future", says Maria Koller, Head of Global HR.
Various measures are planned in order to achieve this proportion. Among other things, recruiting campaigns will in future explicitly target women and international candidates.
Once a year, Jenoptik is audited by the FKI (Women’s Career Index) in Germany. The result in 2019 was that the framework conditions such as flexible working hours, mobile working and childcare are very good, but that specific target figures were missing and have now been introduced.
