MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 21, 2015) - JDSU (NASDAQ: JDSU) today announced that it has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Laser 2000 GmbH, a optical solutions provider of almost 30 years, based in Munich, Germany, to provide its kW class fiber laser and kW class direct-diode laser products throughout Europe.
As part of the agreement, Laser 2000 can now offer JDSU kW class laser systems that JDSU jointly developed with Amada, a leading manufacturer of machine tools for metal cutting. Solutions include a range of new kW class fiber laser and direct diode products that JDSU recently announced related to its CORELIGHT™ platform. Applications include cutting and welding of metals including mild steel, aluminum, titanium, brass, copper and more. Various material deposition applications such as 3d printing are possible.
