Date Announced: 22 Sep 2014
September 17, 2014, Willow Grove, PA USA – Evaporated Coatings, Inc. (ECI), a leading provider of thin film optical coatings, announced today the implementation of new automated fiber inspection systems to meet the criteria of International Standard IEC 61300-3-35.
“The automated fiber inspection systems provide digital imaging up to 800X, automatic focus adjustments and extensive analysis capabilities for most fibers,” said ECI’s Vice President of Engineering Operations Jake Fox.
Increasing requirements for laser damage threshold, optical performance, and reliability necessitate an advanced level of both incoming and post process inspection to achieve required quality levels.
“Digital imaging and automation support Evaporated Coatings strategy to consistently meet quality levels, increase yields, and provide rapid turn-around for our fiber customers’ most demanding applications,” said Fox.
