Date Announced: 19 Jun 2014

HYLASE picosecond laser results from unique, powerful collaboration:
Southampton, UK and Hannover, Germany, June 11th 2014
The HYLASE picosecond laser, with up to 25W power and 125uJ, targeted for advanced micromachining applications is now shipping.
Offering industry-leading performance at the lowest price point and in an ultra-compact form factor, the industrially-qualified HYLASE technology is the ideal solution for system integrators. The technological advances of HYLASE compared to alternative systems in the marketplace is a result of a unique and successful collaboration between ultrafast fiber laser manufacturer Fianium and neoLASE, experts in solid state laser technology.
Fianium, based in Southampton, UK, is the leading provider of ultrafast fiber lasers and designs compact, reliable mode-locked fiber oscillators as the core component of its complete range of products. In HYLASE, Fianium produce the, ultra-stable fiber seed laser source which produces 15ps pulses with selectable repetition rate from single-shot to 40MHz including burst mode capability.
Dr Anatoly Grudinin, founder and CEO of Fianium commented “HYLASE is a unique combination of best of class building blocks from leading technology providers in both the picosecond fiber laser and solid state amplifier fields. We are extremely happy to be partnering with neoLASE on this unique, compact laser for the next generation of laser micromachining applications”
neoLASE, based in Hannover, Germany, is providing high-performance, state of the art diode-pumped, solid-state lasers with an extensive experience on optical amplifier and MOPA laser systems. The neoLASE systems have undergone substantial testing and years of operation as part of the LIGO (Laser interferometer gravitational Observatory) as well as multiple ultra-short pulse systems in industrial research facilities.
Dr Maik Frede, neoLASE founder and CEO explained, “The extremely compact neoLASE amplifier architecture is perfectly suited for the combination with a Fianium high-class ultrafast fiber oscillator. The collaboration with Fianium is extremely fruitful for neoLASE and we look forward to developing even more powerful versions of HYLASE together. neoLASE recently moved to new facilities in Hannover to accommodate the increased production demands.”
HYLASE systems can be seen on both Fianium and neoLASE stands at the LASYS exhibition from June 24th-26th in Stuttgart, Germany
