| Much like perovskites, quantum-dot materials could be used to enhance the efficiency of otherwise-standard silicon solar cells - although whether that advantage can be commercialized successfully will depend largely on the incremental cost of producing the novel material in a hybrid-cell arrangement and at volume scale.
