| Osram is set to spend €1 billion in two phases to build a huge new LED production facility in Malaysia. This image shows a 6-inch wafer, the size that will be produced at the new facility from late 2017. The larger size should give the company a competitive advantage over rivals still manufacturing on a 4-inch platform, which could be crucial when targeting general lighting applications.
