| The recent fall in KLA-Tencor's stock price - along with many others in the semiconductor industry - may have helped usher in the Lam Research acquisition. On news of the deal, which appears to be very popular with investors and equity analysts, KLA's stock price rose in value by more than 20 percent, giving the company a market capitalization in excess of $10 billion.
