| CPV researchers at Soitec Solar and the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) last month set a new record for CPV module efficiency of 36.7% with this "FLATCON" design. But despite that figure - which is way higher than conventional PV modules - the technology is struggling to find a sustainable niche in the solar market while silicon panel costs remain low.
