Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, as imaged by Rosetta's OSIRIS narrow-angle camera on 7 August from a distance of 104 km. The comet’s head (in the top half of the image) is covered with parallel linear features, while the neck (at the center of the image) shows scattered boulders on a smooth underground. In comparison, the comet’s body (lower half of the image) has a much more jagged appearance. Credit: ESA/Rosetta/MPS for OSIRIS Team. |
