| Philips recently installed new LED-based floodlights at Chelsea, the London football club owned by oligarch Roman Abramovich. Unlike the more familiar metal halide floodlights that require several minutes of warm-up time, the LED floodlights switch to full power immediately and the improved uniformity of the lighting on the Stamford Bridge pitch is said to be better for TV broadcasters.
