| TWI, whose roots are in welding and joining technologies, is one of the UK's leading locations for the development of laser-based manufacturing. It forms part of the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry, which has just become one of the seven centers of excellence in the UK government's first Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC).
