| IQE's 200 mm-diameter RGB micro-LED epiwafer (shown here) promises to represent a key step towards mass production of the devices, which are tipped for success in AR/VR display applications - provided that costs can be reduced significantly. Production on 200 mm and 300 mm silicon wafers would be one of the key ways to reduce manufacturing costs.
