Laser enrichment of uranium
GLE, which is the exclusive worldwide licensee of the Silex laser technology for uranium enrichment, was formed in 2006 to develop US enrichment capability. Since then more than $400 million has been invested in GLE’s commercialization program. With initial tests completed, Silex laser modules will be shipped to GLE's test facility by the end of 2022. Pilot operation is slated for around 2025, with the earliest possible date for commercial separation seen as 2027. Image: GLE.
