| According to data from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in 2020, methane gas accounted for about 11% of all greenhouse gas emissions in the US resulting from human activities. Methane is a much more potent greenhouse gas then carbon dioxide, but efforts to identify and reduce fugitive emissions are increasing - with photonics technology potentially playing a key role.
