Hubble comparison
The Hubble Space Telescope's iconic image of the Pillars of Creation was captured in 1995, and again with updated technology in 2014 (shown at left). The image on the right, just captured with the JWST NIRCam instrument, shows far more detail and activity, and is partly able to penetrate the thick pillars of dust that dominated the Hubble imagery.
