Among the many different space deployments that Teledyne sensors have been selected for, one now expected to launch in 2024 is the European Space Agency's Fluorescence Explorer (FLEX) mission. CCD sensors from Teledyne's e2v division will make it possible to measure photosynthetic activity from space for the first time. The sensors will detect the faint fluorescence emitted when atmospheric carbon dioxide and sunlight are converted into energy-rich carbohydrates. Image: ESA.
