DAVINCI+: deep descent
NASA's DAVINCI+ mission will send a meter-diameter probe into the hostile high temperatures and pressures near Venus’ surface. It will explore the atmosphere from above the clouds to near the surface of a terrain that may have been a continent in the past. During the final kilometers of its free-fall descent, the probe will capture images and chemical information deep into the Venutian atmosphere for the first time.
