| Co-founded by optics pioneer Federico Capasso, the Harvard University spin-out Metalenz has just released its "Orion" family of meta-optic dot pattern projectors. Aimed at applications in 3D sensors for smart phones, the Boston company says that the compact and greatly simplified meta-optical design will allow much broader adoption of features such as facial scanning security across all phones.
